Terms of Use
Last updated October 13, 2026
These terms apply to raretrader.com and app.raretrader.com (together, “RareTrader”). By using RareTrader you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who runs RareTrader
RareTrader is operated by Alex Gausman, an individual based in British Columbia, Canada (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at support@raretrader.com.
What RareTrader is
RareTrader is an independent website that shows market information for Rare Pepe cards, which are Counterparty assets on Bitcoin and their Emblem Vault wrappers on Ethereum. It can also prepare transactions, such as buying from a listing or a dispenser, making an offer, or unvaulting a card, for you to review and sign in your own wallet.
RareTrader is non-custodial
- We never hold your funds, cards, private keys or seed phrases, and we cannot move assets on your behalf. Every transaction is signed by you, in your own wallet.
- We are not a party to any trade. We are not a broker, dealer, exchange, marketplace operator, custodian or adviser. Trades settle on public blockchains and through third-party protocols and services, such as OpenSea (Seaport), Counterparty dispensers and its decentralized exchange, and Emblem Vault, under their own terms.
- RareTrader checks prepared transactions against what it shows you before you sign, but you are responsible for reviewing every transaction in your wallet before you approve it.
Information only, not advice
Prices, floors, floor cap, portfolio values, last sales, bids, holder counts, charts and every other figure on RareTrader are provided for information. They come from public blockchains and third-party sources, and they can be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Nothing on RareTrader is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Read the risks before you trade.
Fees
RareTrader does not charge a fee. You pay network fees for your own transactions, and any amounts or fees set by others, such as the seller’s price, OpenSea’s marketplace fee or Emblem’s claim fee. Where we know them, these are shown before you sign. Network fees are usually paid even if a transaction fails.
Who may use RareTrader
- You must be at least 18 and of the age of majority where you live.
- You must not be the subject of sanctions, or located in or acting for a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions under Canadian law or other law that applies to you.
- You are responsible for making sure that your use of RareTrader, and any trade you make, is lawful where you live, and for any taxes on it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use RareTrader for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive, including sanctions evasion or market manipulation such as wash trading;
- attack, overload or interfere with the site, including automated requests beyond its rate limits;
- try to get around its security or access controls, or access areas that are not public;
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your connection to an address.
We may limit or block access to anyone who breaks these terms or puts the site or its users at risk.
Public blockchain data and wallet links
RareTrader displays public blockchain data, including addresses, balances and transactions. If you verify a link between your Ethereum and Counterparty addresses, that link is shown publicly. See the privacy policy for how to ask us to remove it.
Intellectual property
Card artwork, names and other content belong to their artists and other rights holders. RareTrader shows them to identify the cards. RareTrader’s own design, text and software belong to us. RareTrader is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Counterparty, Emblem Vault, OpenSea, UniSat, MetaMask, or the artists of the cards. Other names and marks belong to their owners. To report content that infringes your rights, email support@raretrader.com.
Third-party services
RareTrader relies on and links to services we do not control, including wallets, marketplaces, blockchain nodes and data providers. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them. They can change or stop working, which can affect RareTrader.
Changes and availability
We may change, limit or withdraw any part of RareTrader at any time, including trading or unvault features, and the site may be unavailable. We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and using RareTrader after a change means you accept the updated terms.
No warranty
RareTrader is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the site or its information is accurate, complete, secure or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of funds, assets, profits or data, arising from your use of RareTrader, from transactions you sign, from blockchains, protocols or third-party services, or from errors in the information shown. Our total liability for any claim relating to RareTrader is limited to CAD $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Indemnity
You agree to compensate us for claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of RareTrader, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
